Do I need any medical background?
Not one bit. Modern CPR is written for everyday people — parents, coaches, teachers, caregivers, coworkers. We explain everything in plain language, one step at a time, and never assume you already know the jargon.
How long will it take me?

What if I don't pass the exam the first time?

Is this a healthcare-provider "BLS" card?
No — and we want to be clear about that. "BLS" is a specific healthcare-provider credential that requires an in-person, hands-on skills check. Modern CPR is a lay-responder CPR, AED & First Aid course and issues a Certificate of Completion. If your job requires provider-level BLS, you'll need an in-person or blended course.
Are you affiliated with the American Heart Association or Red Cross?
No. The science behind CPR is set globally by ILCOR (the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation), which reviews the world's research and publishes the international consensus every few years. Well-known organizations like the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Red Cross (ARC) build their courses on that same ILCOR consensus — and so do we. Modern CPR is an independent provider teaching the very same evidence-based science, just in a clearer, friendlier, more accessible way. Will my employer accept it?
Many general workplaces accept online training, but clinical roles and some states require an in-person skills check.
