Lifesaving skills, modernized.
Learn CPR, AED, and first aid online in about an hour — taught as an interactive course you actually do, not a video you sit through. Built on the current 2025 ILCOR & AHA guideline science.
Modern CPR is built on the same 2025 resuscitation science that national councils use to write their guidelines — the international consensus from ILCOR, translated into clear, current training you can complete from anywhere.
Six skills that save lives
Everything a lay responder needs — each taught to the 2025 guidelines, with several skills that older courses haven't caught up to yet.
High-quality CPR
Push hard and fast in the center of the chest — 100–120 per minute, 2–2.4 inches deep, with full recoil and minimal interruptions.
AED use
Turn it on, place the pads, and let it guide you. Works on everyone — including how to defibrillate women without delay.
Rescue breaths
When and how to give effective breaths — for someone who isn't breathing but has a pulse, and during full CPR.
Relief of choking 2025
The updated adult, child, and infant sequences — back blows and thrusts — for a blocked airway.
Bleeding control
Stop severe bleeding with direct pressure, tourniquets, and wound packing — the difference between minutes and life.
Naloxone & opioids New in 2025
Recognize an opioid overdose and give naloxone — while never delaying high-quality CPR.
Current, honest, and actually engaging
Built on the 2025 guidelines
The guidelines were updated in October 2025. Many budget courses still teach the 2020 version. We teach what's current — including naloxone and the new Chain of Survival.
Interactive, not passive
You can't just play a video and click "next." Every lesson has knowledge checks and decision scenarios you must complete — because being made to recall is how skills actually stick.
Radically honest
We tell you up front exactly what this certificate is and isn't, and where it's accepted. No fake seals, no "nationally accredited" claims we can't back up.
Instant, verifiable certificate
Pass the exam and download your certificate immediately — each one carries a unique ID an employer can confirm on our public verification page.

Is this certificate accepted?
The honest answer depends on why you need it — so here it is, plainly.
Great for
- Personal and family readiness — being ready for the people you love
- Community members, volunteers, and Good Samaritans
- Many general (non-clinical) workplaces that accept online training
- Coaches, camp staff, and school groups where the state allows online
- Refreshing skills between in-person certifications
Not a substitute where a hands-on skills check is required
- Hospitals and most clinical / healthcare-provider roles
- Nursing, EMS, and other licensed programs
- Any job or state rule that requires an in-person skills test or a specific provider's card
Why the difference? A fully online course can teach the knowledge superbly, but it can't physically watch you perform compressions. Roles that require a hands-on skills check need an in-person evaluation — so for those, treat Modern CPR as excellent preparation, and always confirm your employer's or board's requirements before you buy. Good questions, honest answers
Is Modern CPR legitimate?
Yes. Our curriculum is built directly on the 2025 ILCOR consensus science and the 2025 AHA guidelines — the same evidence national councils use. We're an independent provider and we're transparent about exactly what our certificate is and where it's accepted.
Do I get a "BLS" or a healthcare-provider card?
No. "BLS" is a specific healthcare-provider credential that requires an in-person skills check. Modern CPR is a lay-responder CPR, AED & First Aid course and issues a Certificate of Completion. If your job requires provider-level BLS with a hands-on evaluation, you'll need an in-person or blended course.
How long does it take?
Most people finish in about an hour, and you can stop and resume anytime. It's self-paced.
What if I don't pass the exam?
You can retake it. Instead of re-showing the same test, we point you back to the exact topics you missed, then give you a fresh set of questions. The goal is that you actually know it.
Are you affiliated with the American Heart Association or Red Cross?
No. Modern CPR is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or ILCOR. Our content is aligned with the same 2025 guideline science they draw from.
Will my employer accept it?
Many general workplaces accept online training, but clinical roles and some states require an in-person skills check or a specific provider. Please confirm with your employer or licensing board before purchasing — and if a listed employer won't accept it, we'll refund you.
Be the person who's ready.
Most cardiac arrests happen at home, in front of someone who loves the person. Learn the skills — it takes about an hour.
