Is my certificate accepted?

Modern CPR issues a Certificate of Completion for a lay-responder CPR, AED & First Aid course. It documents that you learned the material and passed a rigorous exam. Whether that certificate is accepted for a particular purpose depends entirely on who's asking and why — so here's the full picture.

Why the difference?
It comes down to one thing a screen can't do: physically watch you perform. A fully online course can teach the knowledge superbly — the depth and rate of compressions, when to use an AED, how to clear an airway, how to control bleeding. What it can't do is stand next to you and verify that your hands are in the right place, that your compressions are deep and fast enough, and that you can do it under pressure on a manikin.
That hands-on skills evaluation is exactly what clinical and regulated roles require, and it's why those roles need an in-person assessment. For them, treat Modern CPR as excellent preparation — a way to walk into a skills session already knowing the material cold — rather than a replacement for the assessment itself.
A blended option is planned. For people who need an accepted card that includes a hands-on component, we're working on a blended path: learn the knowledge online with Modern CPR, then complete an in-person skills verification. Before you buy, confirm it counts
Requirements vary by employer, by profession, and by state, and they change over time. The single most important step you can take is also the simplest:
Always confirm your employer's or licensing board's specific requirements before you purchase. Ask whether they accept an online Certificate of Completion, or whether they require an in-person skills evaluation or a specific provider's card.
